' review periods at 7 and 20 year intervals. The July 1994 correspondence was generated
' to meet the 7 year report requirement. Once a final reclamation plan is established a final
agreement and transfer of Dry Creek No. 2 shares, if any, should occur so that this
' agreement can be terminated. _
Potential for Irritation of Pronerty
' Once the property has been reclaimed, irrigation of a pasture grass could occur. Portions
of the property may need to be planted in irrigated pasture grasses and portions in non-
irrigated pasture grasses based upon the number of acres that could be irrigated by the
ditch shares available. As previously stated, if no augmentation is required for any surface
' water, based upon the amount of water in a ditch share, approximately 70 acres could be
irrigated by either a pumped system with impact spray heads or gravity fed flood
irrigations. We would recommend flood irrigation as it requires minimal manpower and
no electricity for pumping or materials for pipes, etc.
The lands to be irrigated should be carefully determined based upon the depths to
' groundwater. If the reclamation plan recommendations proposed in this document are
followed, the majority of the property will likely be able to withstand the impacts of the
irrigation without increasing the chances for establishment of wetlands. However,
' groundwater control measures (subsurface underdrains or surface swales) should be
provided to minimize wetlands from forming in developable areas. If water rights are not
' used for irrigation purposes, they should be leased so that they are put to beneficial use.
1
' -24-
