E«hhead <br />3131 Barrett Road 6rxmive Dyer iu~ <br /> <br />Colorado Springs, CO 80926 Michael B Long <br />D~~~s,nn Dueuor <br />RE: AMENDMENT APPLICATION- Red Canyon Quarry- Permit No. M-85-043 <br />Dear Mr. Stack: <br />The Division completed a technical review of your amendment application. <br />In order to meet the minimum requirements of the Colorado Land Reclamation Act for <br />the Extraction of Construction Materials and the Construction Material Rules, the <br />following items need to be addressed: <br />1) Rule 6.4.3(b) requires the submittal of the name and location of all the power and <br />~ communication lines on the area of affected land and within 200 feet of all <br />b ` boundaries of such area. You need to show the existing power line on the Exhibit <br />C Map. <br />2) Rule 6.4.3(d) requires that you show the total area to be involved in the operation <br />O/>~. on all Exhibit maps. The area depicted on all your maps does not agree with the <br />metes and bounds descriptions of the existing permit and the amendment <br />application. <br />d„Yi Your existing permit area is defined as a rectangle with a point of beginning <br />lC// ~~located 561 feet south of the north boundary of Section 1, and 561 feet west of the <br />~ east boundary of Section 1, thence 1,725 feet due west, thence 960 feet due south, <br />r1~~ c5~ thence 1,725 feet due east, thence 960 feet due north to the point of beginning and <br />„p~, ya~containing 38 acres, more or less. <br />~es~ The south portion of your proposed amended permit boundary begins at a point 200 <br />feet west of the section corner of Section 1, thence 200 feet south, thence 1,725 feet <br />west, thence 402 feet north, etc. It appears there will be a strip of land between <br />the existing permit and the proposed amended acreage that will not be included in <br />the permit boundary. Please explain. <br />3) Rule 6.4.3(e) requires that you show the type of vegetation covering the affected <br />dj ~( lands on Exhibit C. Please revise your Exhibit C Map to show the existing <br />
