MAY-19-03 11:37AM FROM-Henderson Mlne 2nd floor <br />303 569 2930 T-OBB P.003/OOB F-097 <br />Land Use at the Tailings Impoundment, which includes a conceptuol alternative, <br />alternative conceptual pion and rationale for the new alternative. Lastly, two (2) technical <br />revisions, TR-04 and TR-12, remain under review by the Colorado Division of Minerols <br />and Geology. TR-12 is of significant importance to Grand County as it proposes the <br />use of an existing .17 acre landfill and development of a new 7.5 acre landfill os part of <br />the Reclamation Plan. <br />Grand County submitted comments to the Division of Minerals and Geology pursuant to <br />the 712 Reclamation Permit Application Process on Tuesday, March 11, 2003, held a <br />subsequent Staff meeting on April 16, 2003, with Henderson Mine and Mill that focused <br />on the "wet cover" concept in and around the tailings pond and new landfills, and <br />received summary/update of the status of the permit amendment application from <br />Division of Minerals and Geology. The following summarizes the County's comments <br />with respect to the proposed amendments and the two (2) technical revisions currently <br />being reviewed by the Division of Minerals and Geology (red is March 11, 2003, <br />comments;,blue is April 16, 2003; and green is update/status from Division of Minerols <br />and Geology): <br />- AM-04 Amendment No. <br />,. ~. . <br />~ The Company and Grand County arc in aprecntcnt as Amendment <br />one (I) is proposed. <br />. r ~ County maintains same comments as stated above. <br />Comment is also in line with Division of Minerals and <br />Geology. <br />O Division of Minerals and Geology will be recommending <br />approval of this component of the amendment.
