VIII. EXHIBIT L -RECLAMATION COSTS
The following updated reclamation cost exhibit has been provided to assist DMG with calculation of a new
bond for the facility based on the changes proposed in this Amendment. The costs have been calculated on
a per-acre basis to allow calculation of the costs of reclamation of affected areas at the Moaison Quarry.
E~ecause the previous reclamation cos[ estimate (Amendment No. 4) was acceptable to DMG and is less than
6~ur years old, the same unit costs have been used in this update, adjusted for inflation, and the acreages
changed to reflect the new plan:
• Surface Preparation Per Acre(backfilling and grading)
(Assume average IOH:I V slopes, 60 ft avera e bench width, average of 3 ft ,f~
depth = 5,000 yds'/acre at $0.75/yd' o ~ ~~` i ~; + ~ I ~ ~lz's ~,~,1 ~ 3 750
•
•
Hydroseeding/I-lydromulching Per Acre
(Includes seed, mulch, tackifier, and fertilizer) ~ !66 ~, ~ y~wl`"
Trees and Shrubs Per Acre
(250 stems/Ac. at 52.00/stem, planted)
TOTAL COST PER ACRE
TOTAL ADJUSTED COST PER ACRE"'
1 0
COST OF RECLAMATION PER MINING PHASE`Z"
•
•
Noies:
~n
rn
Phase I (95.5 Acres)
Phase II (88.2 Acres)
Phase III (140.7 Acres)
Phase IV (84.5 Acres)
$ 500 Q K
0 a~d
6 347 ~~ °
nl~
~sa~-t'gs~
06 131 t e
$559.799
~~/a ~e
3
q~8 ~d
i telly ~~d
ca ~di~arr''
Olt
53 315
Total adJusted reclamation cost per acre equals 1994 cost per acre adjusted for inflation at 2.5 percent per year for
four years.
Costs are [o assist DMG with bonding estimates only and represent the total anticipated maximum disturbance per
phase.
