TABLE E-I (Continued)
Areas of Disturbance"' (And Duration of Phases)
Morrison Quarry, Fifth Amendment, Permit No. 73-2I
Total Disturbed Acreage by Phase
(Moderate and Major)
Total (Acres)
Phase I 95.5
Phase II 88.2
Phase III 140.7
Phase IV 84.6
~"Major, moderate and ntinor disturbance as per old DMG rules and regulations dated April 1994.
'5-06. POST-RESTORATION MANAGEMENT
"fhe primary management practice [o be followed after hydroseeding and manual transplanting of trees and
shrubs will be yearly monitoring for success of the reclamation effort. This will entail observing the stability
of all backfilled and sloped areas and the sustained growth of grasses, shrubs and trees. Experience has shown
ghat it takes a minimum of three years to get native grasses permanently established. However, once
established, a varied and successful native grass mixture will result. During this period, occasional selective
herbicide treatment may be necessary where pockets of noxious or undesirable weeds have established
themselves. Past experience has shown that if dense pockets of weeds are controlled, native grasses easily out
compete weeds if, in the first few years, the grasses are allowed to establish themselves.
In order to achieve a natural, premising density of shrubs and trees, they will be replaced where and when
necessary. Shrubs and trees will be planted where they would be naturally found in this area. For example,
Douglas Firs will only be planted in the upper areas of the north-facing slopes of the reclaimed areas after final
mining.
Areas reclaimed in the North Quatry area have shown successful regenerative and sustained growth of all
grasses, shrubs and trees that have been planted. Some trees and shrubs have been replaced, but, in general,
reclamation has been very successful and will establish a viable wildlife habitat in areas surrounding the
proposed water resource storage reservoirs.
The reservoirs, surrounding maintenance roads and related raw water supply infrastructure have not yet
undergone final design. Elements of the ultimate raw water storage/delivery system will be maintained by the
Town of Morrison with CAMAS, and potentially with others, as partners per the Annexation Agreement and
future water storage contracts that may be negotiated by Morrison and/or CAMAS.
G:NROIECrS~]Oi0P00TTEX"MMFNnOS.T%T V ' 6
