Lessee shall furnish <br />"Lessor a certificate evidencing such insurance. Lessee further <br />agrees to hold harmless an3 indemnify Lessor for any on account of <br />any damage suffered by the lands of others as a direct any proximate <br />result of any act 'd one or permitted to be done by the Lessee under <br />the terms of this lease. <br />--~ Lessee agrees that annually, in the event of strip-mining opera- <br />tions on said premises, to slope thc~si:ies of all surface pits or <br />excavations to a ratio of not more than one foot vertical for each <br />two feet of horizontal distance. I.1nenevcr practicable, all pits <br />or excavations shall be shaped to drain, and in no case shall the <br />pits or excavations be allowed to become a hazard to persons or <br />livestock, to the end so that upon the termination of the said <br />coal-mining lease, the land will, as nearly as practicable, <br />approximate its original configuration, with a minimum of permanent <br />damage to the surface. <br />10.
