David Berry
October 15, 1990
Page Four
CYCC Response:
As previously discussed, CYCC intends to submit a Technical Revision dealing with drainage
control for IVtine 3. However, this revision will include only iViap 4a (I-Iydrology), as Nlap 4b
(Hydrologic Monitoring) is up to date and complete, as well as being unrelated to drainage
control. Numbered versions of Maps ht3S and 1`I3N will also be submitted with the revision.
MLRD CONCERN:
Noxious Weed Control
We strongly encourage the operator to submit a general weed control plan for Mine No. 3. Failure
to manage noxious weed growth at the mien may result in enforcement action.
CYCC Response:
Again, CYCC feels that the current information regarding weed and pest control is more than
sufficient under the current requirements of the regulations.
MLRD CONCERN:
Buffer Zone Sins
Please revise Page 2.05-144 to include the response contained in your letter dated July 9, 1990. The
response regarding buffer zone signs is reasonable, and we recommend that the permit page should
be revised to avoid future questions about the issue.
CYCC Response:
Page 2.05-145 has been revised per your request and is enclosed.
MLRD CONCERN:
Overburden Pile
Please revise page 2.05-67 to specifically reference the actual materials in which the overburden pile
was exempted (Division letters or memorandums, etc.). Recall that permit 76-16 was not issued;
therefore, it will be more proper to reference (and possibly include) the Division correspondence
materials.
CYCC Response:
Page 2.05-67 has been revised accordingly, and is enclosed. Exhibit 26 (Permanent Overburden
Stockpile) has been created to address this issue, and is enclosed
