.~
David Berry
October I5, 1990
Page Two

Affected Acreage -
We have digitized the total affected azea, and a value of about 372 acres was obtained. This
value is approximate. The value includes all reclaimed parcels, the ponds, office area and
topsoil pile, drainage sumps and roads azound the Lieske residence.
CYCC Response:
In response to the Division's concern, CYCC again digitized the areas in question, and
obtained a value of 370 total affected areas. This value includes all reclaimed parcels, the
ponds, the office area, topsoil pile, drainage sumps, and access roads to the Lieske residence.
However, it should be noted that CYCC does not feel the access roads to the residence in
question are a mining related disturbance. As per previous discussions with the Division, the
ponds and these access roads are considered to be permanent features, and not subject to
further reclamation.
Reclaimed Acreage -
This amount should be the affected acreage value, minus the acreages associated with the office area
and topsoil pile.
CYCC Response:
With the change in the affected acreage value, the Reclaimed Acreage value becomes 368 acres
due to the nature of the affected acreage additions. The office area and topsoil pile have not
been reclaimed. The ponds, sumps, and the access roads to the Lieske residence are permanent
features. As a result, a value of 368 reclaimed acres is being used. The application form has
been revised to reflect this change.
Disturbed Acreage -
This value should equal the affected acreage value. Both permitted and actual should be the same
number.
CYCC Response:
CYCC concurs, with the understanding that the access roads are approved as permanent
features, and therefore require no additional reclamation. As such, a value of 370 disturbed
acres is being utilized, and the application form has been revised accordingly.
