STORMWATER MANAGEM~ PLAN <br /> <br />updated or otherwise modified to reflect current conditions, and the controls to reduce or <br />eliminate pollutants in stormwater discharges associated with mining activities identified <br />in the SWMP are being Implemented and are adequate. In the spring, another <br />inspection, similar to the fall inspection will be performed by a qualified person assigned <br />by the Transportation Division Manager. Special attention shall be given to newly <br />disturbed areas, and areas used for material storage, Sediment ponds, swalas and <br />conveyance ditches shall be Inspected for trash, debris, and/or sediment build-up that <br />could be conveyed offsile. <br />Any observations made during the Inspection that require a change to the pollution <br />prevenllon measures described In the SWMP shall be Implemented within 60 days. The <br />SWMP shall be revised within two (2) weeks of the Inspection. <br />These comprehensive Inspections will be documented and summarized in the annual <br />report. This report will Include the personnel making the inspection, the date(s) of the <br />inspection, major observations relating to the implementation of the SWMP, and actions <br />to correct pollution prevention measures. <br />In addition to the semi-annual inspections, mine personnel will be trained to observe <br />evidence of, or the potential for, pollutants to enter the drainage system from equipment, <br />or materials handling and storage areas. If only minor corrective actions are needed, <br />they will be performed immediately and not be reported. If more extensive actions <br />appear to be required, the Rural/Urban Superintendent will be notified and he or she will <br />in turn notify the Transportation Division Supervisor. stormwater Manager and Systems <br />staff will be available for recommendations regarding specific corrective measures. <br />V. RECORD KEEPING AND INTERNAL REPORTING PROCEDURES <br />A. RECORDS TO BE KEPT <br />Incidents such as spills or other discharges, Including type of material spilled, <br />quantity released, response procedures implemented, date of spill, and a list of <br />agencies to whom the spill was reported. <br />2. Dates, etfendees, and material covered in training. <br />3. Documentation of significant observations made durng the site inspections and <br />corrective actions resulting from the semi-annual Inspections shall be retained as <br />part of the stormwater pollution prevenllon plan for 3 years es well as <br />summarized in the annual report. <br />B. REPORTING OF DATA - STORMWATER DISCHARGES <br />An annual report will be submitted to the Colorado Department of Health, Water Quality <br />Control Division on or about February 15 of each year covering January 1 through <br />December 31 of each year.
