(Golder) is pleased to submit this summary of Phase Nc Construction Quality <br />Assurance (CQA) services performed for the Cresson Project during the period of April 25 through <br />May 8, 2004. <br />• The weather during this reporting period was clear to cloudy. Approximate daytime low <br />temperatures ranged from 20° F to 47° F, and highs ranged from 32° F to 73° F. Weather <br />observations were made on fourteen days of this fourteen-day reporting period. <br />Construction Svno~sis <br />Ames Construction Inc. (Ames) of Aurora, Colorado is the earthworks contractor for the Phase Nc <br />construction: Ames conducted Phase Nc construction activities on ten days of this fourteen-day <br />reporting period (Apri127 through May 1, and May 3 through May 7, 2004). <br />Phase Nc <br />Ames resumed contouring and compaction of subgrade in prepazation for soil liner fill (SLF) placement <br />in the Phase Nc Ore Storage Area (OSA). Ames loaded, hauled, and placed structural fill (SF) within <br />the Phase Nc azea footprint during slope re-contouring. <br />Ames removed the 36-inch corrugated steel pipe (CSP) to the outer limits of the Phase Nc Valley <br />Leach Facility (VLF) footprint, and plugged the end of the elbowed 36-inch CSP with approximately 2 <br />cubic yazds of concrete. <br />Ames performed excavation activities at underground working UG-297. This working was previously <br />identified as a deep shaft requiring lateral remediation, as defined in the drawings. The concrete plug <br />• <br />^^ <br />
