Phase IVc Summary No. 9 Page 2 043-2170
Ames placed and compacted Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase IVc OSA, on the north azea of
the VLF. SLF material was tested, conditioned, reworked, retested, and maintained prior to SLF
surface acceptance.
Ames continued production of bentonite-amended SLF at the screen plant and pug mill located above
the Ames materials Yazd. Ames also continued limited production of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) material
at the screen plant by the secondary crusher.
Poly-Flex continued deployment of 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase
FVc OSA. Geomembrane was installed in the Phase IVc OSA on the south facing slope of Raven Hill
downwazd to the Phase IVb/IVc tie-in. Poly-Flex deployed 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE
geomembrane over an area of approximately 235,821 squaze feet in the Phase IVc OSA during this
reporting period. Geomembrane panels C-304 through C-362 were deployed, seamed, and tested by
Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion seam samples DFc-103 through DFc-128 were mazked during this
reporting period without removal or testing. No destructive fusion seam peel and sheaz tests were
performed during this reporting period.
Ames continued placement and grading of DCF material into the Phase IVc OSA in the western portion
of the VLF, Saddle Fill area. Ames placed DCF material onto approved geomembrane panels and High
Volume Solution Collection (HVSC) piping per the project plans.
A map of the azea worked during this reporting period is provided in Attachment C.
• Field Monitorine and Testing Activities
Golder observed constrrcton activities associated with Phase Nc earthworks. All constrrction
materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in
accordance with project specifications.
Golder observed excavation and construction of the SU in Phase FJc for trench dimensions, slope, and
materials used.
Golder observed excavation of the Phase IVc anchor trench for proper location, dimension (2' wide by
3' deep) and maintenance prior to deployment. Anchor trench excavation met or exceeded the
requirements of the specification.
Golder observed placement, compaction, and moisture conditioning of SLF in the Phase Nc OSA for
subgrade prepazation, thickness, compaction, moisture-content, and materials used. The Golder CQA
earthworks monitor performed twenty-four nucleaz moisture-density tests (SLNc-078 through SLNc-
101) and performed ten nucleaz moisture-density retests on SLF that required reworking (SLNc-87a,
90a, 91a, 92a, 94a, 96a, 97a, 98a, 99a, and 100a) located within the Phase Nc OSA. The retested SLF
met the requirements of the specifications. Field test results are presented in Attachment B.
li
m,~.~rvoo9 Amy am,y,o iooa.aoc Golder Associates inC.
