outlines how the disturbances to the prevailing hydrologic balance will be minimized
during dewatering activities and after the slurry wall has been installed. The plan shall be
submitted as a technical revision if it is sent in after this amendment application is
approved. Or, the plan can be included in the response to this adequacy letter and be
approved along with the amendment application.
Exhibit D -Slurry Wall Construction -the applicant shall submit as-built drawings and a
final construction report after the slurry wall has been constructed. The final report should,
at a minimum, detail the installation of the slurry wall, describe any problems that
occurred, and list the results of testing that was conducted under the quality
assuranceJquality control plan. Bond release of slurry wall construction funds can only
occur when the State Engineer's Office has determined the lined pit meets their
performance standazds and accepts the facility as an adequate water storage structure.
There is an azea on the south side of the water storage facility which is identified on Exhibit
F-2 map with 6-point stars. However, the final land use legend does not identify the azea. It
appeazs the area is the ripazian forest area. Please address.
The comment period expired on April 23, 2002 and the DMG did not receive any
comments/objections to this application so it is not necessary to hold apre-heazing conference or
to present the application to the Boazd. The application can be approved or denied on or before
June 3, 2002 unless the applicant needs additional time to address the above noted, or future,
adequacy concerns. If additional time is needed, please submit the request for an extension of the
decision due date prior to 4:OOpm on June 3`d. The date for consideration can be extended up to
365 days from the date the application was filed with the DMG.
If you have any questions, please give me a call at 303-866-4060.
Sincerely,
~J
James Dillie
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: James Stevens
Mazk HIune, Transit Mix of Pueblo
