LOng
Division Dveaor
I have reviewed Powderhorn's responses and spoken to Greg Jones and
John Nadolski regarding any additional questions from their
response letter.
In short, all my concerns have been adequately and conscientiously
addressed in the response dated February 3, 1993. Below I have
itemzed each item and its resolution in the revised permit pages or
future submittal of the Annual Hydrology Report for the file
record.
I. Probable Hvdroloaical Consequences
A. Regarding the PHC, the new revised version adequately
addresses issues outlined in Rule 2.05.6(3)(iii); adverse
effects of mining, impacts from acid or toxic forming
materials, sediment yields, and the effect the operation would
have on concentarations on TDS and TSS. The PHC also
addresses the source of water, the route and discharge of
water both surface and ground.
Current levels of salt loading on the Colorado River and the
on-going study and cooperation effort with the Department of
Health is detailed on pages 217b and 217c.
* Powderhorn has committed to sending the Division a copy of the
salinity report when completed.
B. The effects of the North Decline filling in with water and how
the Decline was sealed have been addressed on revised page
217b and Figure 2.05.4B on page 198 of the current permit.
C. Future plans for the Cameo Mine have been addressed on page
217a and in the response letter.
