South end of Site C Mine Site
Due to similar slopes, aspect, vegetation, and soils for Site C,
Samples 2, 3 and 4; and to increase sampling point significance, the data
have been combined to provide an "average vegetation type" quantitative
estimate. Shrubs dominate the composition at 50.0$, followed by Forbs 22$
and Grass 28.0. Bare ground accounted for 73~ of the sampling areas with
9.5$ litter cover. Shrubs provide 8.5~ total cover, Grass 5~ and Forbs 4$.
An important component of these sample sites has been vegetative
litter. While the sparse vegetation is readily apparent, the litter is not
as obvious and should be carefully considered in re-vegetation efforts.
Intercept Percent
Species Points Count
Chrysothamnus vicidiflorus 7 6.5
Eurotia Janata 2 2.0
Abronia fragrans 2 2.0
Eriogonum loncophyllum 1 1.0
Lepidium montanum 1 1.0
Oryzopsis hymenoides 5 5.0
Litter 10 9.5
Bare ground 77 73.0
Total 105 100
(continued on page 13)
-12-
