(Reclamation plan, rule 6.3.4 (f) (2) (3)); a summary of meeting with Division of
Minerals and Geology's Bob Oswald, mine inspector, Durango office, dated 10/21/02. I
informed Bob of my intent, to file a request for a bond reduction. His correspondence
states:
[ The Division will entertain the operators request for such modification if certain
other materials aze also submitted; a written request from the landowner stating the intent
and desire to leave certain structures; and written approval by the County department
which has jurisdiction over such matters, that certain structures may remain.
Additionally, the present mill building is situated where a tempory facility is approved,
and the permanent structure is to be upon the ridgetop. We agree that the plan should be
changed, and the actual building will not need to be moved.]
In an office meeting on 07/22/03 with Bob Oswald, I asked if I should retain a local
contractor to get an estimate of costs for reclamation. He informed me that a re-
calculation ofthe current Bond was due to be done by him. That I could agree to and use
his figures for such as required in the exhibit. A request for a Bond Reduction, will be
filed as soon as AM-3 is approved. The re-calculation bond figures for reclamation will
be forewarded as soon as Mr. Oswald completes the re-calculation. I do agree to accept
his calculations to provide the estimated costs to reclaim the site as in rule 6.3.4 (1) (f), as
Bob said he must do the re-calculation as required by his job, even if I'd hired a
contractor.
