Exhibit D
Mining will begin on the south boundary in the southwest
corner and proceed north and east. However, Rlo Grande
County shall not be limited to this area as more suitable
material may be discovered 1n other areas of the property.
As previously stated, if an abundance of topsoil is located,
it will be stripped, stockpiled on the closest exterior
bank, and reserved for reclamation. Topsoil stockpiles will
be seeded to slow erosion.
As stated in Exhibit D(e), all pit slopes will be 3:1 when
exposed. There will be no exposed high walls.
The setback distance only defines limit of extraction. The
40 feet of space is Included within the limit of disturbance
(see Mining Plan Map). This will provide room for a road,
topsoil berms, and allow equipment to maneuver around the
pit, as well as perform reclamation work.
Exhibit E
Topsoil will be imported from various roads that are under
construction. The material removed from the right-of-way
may not be suitable for road base but is adequate for
growing vegetation.
Exhibit F
As illustrated on the Reclamation Plan Map, the elevations
are for pit depth information only. The Pre-mining Plan Map
shows a gentle ENE slope. Rio Grande County plans to mine
to an anticipated depth of 15 feet. However, the County
intends to stay above water level to ensure a dry pit at
this time {see Exhibit D(f). Water impoundments may appear
after weather events. Should an abundance of water appear,
the mining depth will be raised to maintain a dry pit
status.
