s ~
Application Item 9
A previous 112 application was used as a guideline for
completion of this application. This item was not
researched and was submitted incorrectly. Thank you for
clarifying this issue. Enclosed is a corrected Application
Sheet #2.
Exhlbit C
The term "pit expansion" refers to the actual pit only. The
permit boundary is the property line (as shown on Mining
Plan Map).
The well located on the west end is not active at this
time. Only 12 inches of casing protrude above ground. The
casing is capped with a metal lid with no pump or electric
service to the well at this time. Rio Grande County intends
to maintain the casing for future use. As shown in Exhlbit
C(d) Mining Plan, the well is in an area free from mining.
The San Luis Valley Rural Electric power line services the
house and out buildings within the proposed pit area. This
is the only service on the powerline. The mining plan will
not affect the line at this time. As the pit expands from
west to east, the buildings will be eliminated and the line
terminated at the north end of Rio Grande County property.
Access to the pit will remain on the southwest corner of the
Del Norte Pit located south of the scales. Rlo Grande
County reserves the right to utilize the access for the
house, located on County Road 7 North, in the future.
Existing interior roads will be used with new roads along
the perimeter of the pit.
Plt run material will be stockpiled in the bottom of the
constructed pit. Processed material will be stockpiled in
the processing area. With regard to the topsoil, we do not
anticipate an abundance of topsoil. There is minimal
topsoil at this site. A majority of the topsoil will be
needed in the processing of crushed material in order to
meet our gradation requirements. Should an abundance of
topsoil be found, it will be stockpiled near the closest
perimeter of the pit.
