Oehler
Environmental Protection Specialist
DIVISION OF MINERALS b GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street - Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Oehler:
In response to your request for further information:
Mining Plan Map
The engineer, Mr. Adams, clearly described the area
to be mined and t:he small area to the Southeast of the area ~..
that is used for stockpiling of material; he included a written
description, as well.
The owners of record - from the tax rolls - are the owner
of the pit - Jacque Goemmer, who is also the owner of the
substance mined.
The road wi].1 remain - it is used to feed cattle and/or
maintain the ditches; the other road on the West of the permit
area is an acces;~ ingress/egress road for Martin and Davis. The
scale is used foi- the livestock operation, etc. it will remain.
It is my understainding from Mr. Oehler that the stockpiles, etc.
must remain within the permitted area - at least those that
pertain to the gravel operation.
The materia]. is mined toward the North and down into the
earth. Pictures of the area and mining operation are in the
file - hopefully, they can be found in the myriad of papers.
The ditches are shown on the application maps, etc. as
well as in some of the pictures and storm water permit application
which the State Department of Health feels is not really
necessary at this; time. If it is required from Mined Land
perspective, plee~se advise - I felt that the $50.00 expense
was not justifiecl at this time.
Any work in the pre-law area is the business of the ranch
for the livestock: operation as well as the haying, timbering, etc.
Reclamation Plan Map
The slopes of the mined area are to be no less than
3:1 slopes - please refer to pictures. This slope can be
tolerated by the livestock that use the area, and we do not
~~
