Lewicki
Director - Engineering Services
Panorama Resource Services, Inc.
1675 Latimer Street, Suite 750
Denver, Colorado 80202
Re: Trinidad Basin Mine Partial Bond Release Request (our File No. C-048-81)
Dear Mr. Lewicki:
The Division has recently completed a review of the TBM partial bond release
request. Below is a list of concerns which need to be addressed by the
permittee so that the Divisian may fully evaluate the request.
1. The public notice published August 12, 19, 26, and September 3, 1985
contains the incorrect total bond figure of $327,000.00. The correct total
bond is $330,000.00. A corrected public notice will need to be republished.
2. A post-mining topographic map should be included with the bond release
request. This map should contain such information as stream channels,
properly labeled cross-section locations, and locations of permanent ponds and
roads, if any. This map needs to be certified by a registered professional
engineer.
3. Five cross-sections, drawn on graph paper, are presented. These
cross-sections represent the post-mining topography at various locations in
the mine. Each cross-section should be keyed to the map discussed in comment
No. 2. Furthermore, each cross-section should be drafted with vertical and
horizontal scales given. The exact boundaries between undisturbed and
reclaimed lands should be labeled, as well as ditches, roads and other
pertinent features. Each cross-section should be certified by a registered
professional engineer.
4. What is the final width of the road to Pit No. 1? This road, drawn to
scale, should be included on the previously discussed topographic map.
5. The Pit No. 4 road was not approved to be left. This change was termed
insignificant, with full bond release requested for this area. The Division
has not approved leaving this road unreclaimed. In order to do so, a permit
revision will be required.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (303) 866-3567
