JUL-09-2001 07:36 qM 2644 17193790713
• •
BMRI 1'R-31 Responses
July 2, 2001
Page 3
Response: BMRI agrees with the Division's recommendation and request.
Therefore, BMR] will discontinue groundwater monitoring of monitorfng wells
~1 ~ DW-2, 87-24 and M-30 initiating with third quarter 2001. BMRI will cohtinue to
(7'r" quarterly sample, analyze end report monittring results from monitoring well M-
16. For purposes of this analysis, BMRI proposes to continue analyzing sample
collections from monitoring Nell M-16 for those constituents required with TR•26
(i.e., total dissolved solids, calcium, fluoride, sulfate, copper, iron, manganese).
CDMG Comment (:
~~~ BMRI's response to the proposed sludge removal tttethods is acceptable and approved.
Response: Nor further response is necessary.
CbMG Comment 7:
DMRI's proposal to delete the current nitrogen monitoring requirements from the site
monitoring program is hereby approved.
Response: BMRI wilt drop nitrogen monitoring from the CDMG site monitoring
,6\~ program heginning with any sample collections taken after the date of tgis
correspondcncc.
CDMG Comment 8:
Regarding a revised trend analysis proposal, it would be helpful if BMRI submitted a
sample (or samples) of the general time and concentration trend analysis for the TR-26
wells so the charts can be compared to the ShewttrVCUSLIM charts. It is possible the
proposed revised analysis may provide a clearer picture of the alluvial aquifer cleanup
activities. A plot of several tnoilth's d;tta shunld sufficiently delineate an adCquate chart.
Response: Jim Finley, Ph.D. of'1'ell~sto tiolutiuns, loc. has submitted several
examples of the proposed time and concentration trend analysis charts to the
Division under separate cover (facsimile July 5, 2001). Should the Division require
additional information or require additional discussion, please contact either myself
(970) 325-4482 or Mr. Finley (970) 484-7704.
CDMG Comment 9:
P. 04
BMRI's proposal to activate an appropriate mechanists to "revert back to the original
monitoring and compliance schedule for the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer ...", and BMRi's
