<br /> <br />monitoring and water quality sampling shall be <br />reported on a quarterly basis, as specified in <br />Part ].I, Section D. S. <br />(e) Any weall taken off injection/production status, <br />and worked-over to monitor the B-Groove or <br />Dissolution Surface, shall be designed such that <br />sampling intervals are limited to twenty (20) <br />feet. Any well not converted for monitoring <br />purpoc~es shall be plugged and abandoned in <br />accordance with Part II, Section E. 2. <br />(f) One ('I) set of permanent monitoring wells for the <br />B-Groove, Dissolution Surface, and perched <br />aquifer, shall be established on the downgradient <br />side of each of the five-year mine blocks. These <br />wells shall be drilled prior to development of <br />each five-year block and their locations shall be <br />subject to EPA approval. <br />(g) For the first cavern developed as a result of the <br />Pilot Project, one monitoring well, each, shall be <br />established for the Dissolution Surface and B- <br />Groove. Injection/production wells may be <br />recompleted for these monitoring purposes. <br />(h) A Dissolution-Surface monitoring well shall be <br />established between the first and second caverns <br />to be developed within the first five-year mine <br />block. <br />(i) At least eight <br />monitoring wel <br />five-year mine <br />subject to EPA <br />(j) At le+ist three <br />wells shall be <br />mine block and <br />EPA approval. <br />(8) additional Dissolution-Surface <br />is shall be established in the first <br />block and their locations shall be <br />approval. <br />(3) additional B-Groove monitoring <br />established in the first five-year <br />their locations shall be subject to <br />(k) Each :subsequent five-year mine block shall have at <br />least seven (7) Dissolution-Surface monitoring <br />wells and at least three (3) B-Groove monitoring <br />wells. At a minimum, one (1) Dissolution-Surface <br />monitoring well shall be located between adjacent <br />mine caverns.
