i~
Implementation and Timetable
`' Land reclamation work at the quarry expansion will begin
during the second year of operations as shown in Figure :L. Dur-
ing the first year, work will be focused on the initiation of
mining operations and no reclamation work is foreseen. In
i.,
subsequent years, land reclamation will keep pace with mining
`' and each bench will be reclaimed after it is mined. Final re-
clamation of the site is expected to be completed as of the spring
of 2037.
Implementation of the reclamation plan is discussed below
', in paragraphs keyed to the corresponding sections of Rule 6 of
~~ the Mined Land Reclamation Board's Rules and Regulations of
1978.
,' 6.1 Grading
a. Grading will be carried out to create the desired
~~ topography and to assure maximum safe, practicable
~~ use of the terraces. As in previously reclaimed
areas of the quarry, no slopes will be left
steeper than roughly 1:1, except for those occurring
naturally along the margins of the operation and
-~ along the sub-vertical cuts. No toxic materials
' exist in the affected area.
.~
.1
E-5
1
