1
Revegetation
' Revegetation of the site will commence once the growth
medium has been tested and fertilized as necessary. Slopes
will be broadcast seeded with the following seed mix:
Western Wheatgrass 9.6 lbs/acre
Sideoats Grama 3.6 lbs/acre
Crested Wheatgrass 3.8 lbs/acre
Pubescent Wheatgrass 11.0 lbs/acre
This mixture has been used in successfully revegetating pre-
viously mined and reclaimed areas of the quarry.
1 Woody vegetation will be installed by bare root transplanting
' of seedlings and older specimens. Tree and shrub species to be
used will be identical to those currently being used to reclaim
' the previously mined northern quarry and will include Ponderosa
Pine, Douglas Fir, Mountain Mahogany and Gambels Oak.
Planting and seeding will be done in the early spring and
' fall months.
Management
Weeds are not expected to pose difficulties in revegetating
I the quarry site; however, if they do become a problem, they will
be controlled mechanically rather than chemically so that native
species which are invading will not be destroyed by the applica-
tion of herbicides.

I E-4
