Narrative updates to the reclamation plan in Tab 14 were provided as requested, <br />with the exception of updated narrative related to the North Decline cheatgrass <br />control/interseeding project. Also, in the amended page 14-10 narrative, <br />ephemera] channels that are to be constructed following diversion ditch removal <br />at the North Portal reclaimed area are referred to as "ditches". "Channels" would <br />be the more appropriate term, for permanent drainage features associated with <br />approximate original contour postmine topography. Finally, there is an incorrect <br />map reference in the narrative at the top of amended page 14-13, regarding CBA <br />#2 final contours. <br />a) Please provide updated narrative regarding the North Decline cheatgrass <br />control project as requested (update 2"d paragraph under subsection (v) on <br />page 14-17); <br />b) Please replace the term "ditches" with the term "channels", in three <br />instances where the term is used in the second paragraph of amended page <br />14-10, in reference to the channels to be constructed during the final phase of <br />reclamation, and; <br />c) Narrative at the top of amended page 14-13 indicates that final contours <br />for CBA #2 are shown on Exhibit 52. This is not the case; Exhibit 52 shows <br />current topography, with Sediment Pond 11 in place and the existing <br />alignment of lower Coal Gulch. Exhibit 9C shows final contours, with Pond <br />11 eliminated and the approved re-alignment of lower Coal Gulch. Please <br />replace the reference to "Exhibit 52, Tab 13" with "Exhibit 9C, Tab 14". <br />5. Table 14-2 and Exhibit 52 were amended as requested. Item Resolved. <br />6. Narrative updates to "Threatened and Endangered Species" sections of the <br />application were provided as requested. Item Resolved. <br />The issue raised by this item (sealing a dewatering pipe) was addressed within a <br />separate technical revision application (TR-53), which has been approved.
