I have been authorized by Somerset Mining Company to act on its
behalf in dealing with MLRD on its Permit No. C-81-022. This
letter specifically addresses the permit renewal issues contained
in your letter dated March 2, 1990 to Craig Springer. Only a
portion of the issues are addressed in this transmittal. The
following narrative will follow the numbering system used in your
letter and assist you in your review of the enclosed information:
~~1. Page ix was revised and is enclosed. Page 3 of the
~'~ renewal application was revised and is also enclosed. Even
~U;~ ~ though Somerset. Mining Company does not have the right to mine
3' the Federal Cosl, the a creage of Federal Coal included within the
~~ permit area is shown on page 3 item 7.
2. & 3. Revised pages 2.03-2 through 2.03-16 and 2.06-5 are en-
closed.
4. Enclosed is Exhibit A for the reclamation bond which
has been revised to reflect the description of the entire permit
area. Portions of the permit area are contained in all of the
lots or section breakdowns described. The lands described in
Exhibit A include portions of the relinquished federal coal
leases and portions of the Operator's land which are included in
the permit area.
