~~ 7oli: Michael B: l;ong-
August-9, 1995
Page 2
- . ..
Reclamation plans for the SF Loadouts in the permit application reflect the industrial
postmining land use. The plans include removal of coal handling structures and equipment,
removal of excess road/ramp materials, and regrading. In addition, the site receives no topsoil
or revegetation.
Energy Fuels initiated reclamation in 1993 and completed the work in 1994. Reclamation
involved removal from the site of all coal handling structures and equipment, removal of
excess road materials, backfilling the sub-grade hopper structure, and regrading the sites
according to the railway company specificafions. Site drainage was established ink accordance
with the reclamation plan, with silt fences constructed for end-point sediment control.
Energy Fuels no longer plans to utilize the SF Loadouts, the entire associated su ~rface
disturbance area• was reclaimed consistent with the approved reclamation plan and landowner
wishes, and the area was returned to 'a' condition consistent with the approved postmining
industrial land use. Given the above conditions, Energy Fuels respectfully requests that the
DMG release that portion of the existing bond for the Raton Creek Mine in the amount of
$8,963 that is associated with SF Loadouts. Upon receipt of notification from the DMG that
this transmittal meets requirements for bond release' application, Energy Fuels will issue the
Proposed Public Notice both for publication in the local newspaper (Rule 3.03.2(1) and by
certified mail to the individuals or entities identified by the accompanying list. ~
If you have any questions regarding this submittal or require additional information, please
feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Energy Fuels Mining Company
Allen S.
