Box 310 <br />San Luis, Colorado 81152 <br />Re: San Luis Project, Technical Revision No. Oll, Technical Adequacy Comments <br />Permit No. M-88-112 <br />Dear Mr. Kluksdahl; <br />The Division has completed its technical adequacy revie~.v of BMRI's technical <br />revision application No. TR-011, which BMRI submitted to the Division on <br />August 27, 1992. TR-011 proposes the relocation of the cyanide storage area <br />at the Battle Mountain Gold ore processing plant. This proposal was submitted <br />to remedy a problem which occurred as the result of a precipitation event at <br />the mine on August 12th. A small slope slough blocked the plant's storage <br />yard drainage, causing,water to pond in the area of the cyanide hopper <br />storage. The ponded .water was contaminated with cyanide through contact with <br />the cyanide hopper;. BMRI reported this ?vent to the Division the following <br />aa~~.
