THREATENED; ENDANGERED; AND SENSITIVE SPECIES <br />POTENTIALLY OCCURRING WITHIN DRILL PAD SITES .: <br />S ecies Status' Potential Habitat <br />Smooth Rockcress (Brays S Favors calcareous soils derived from Leadville Limestone and <br />glabella) Manitou Dolomite. <br />Wooly Fleabane (Erigeron S Scree slopes above 12,500 feet in elevation. <br />lanafus) <br />T=Federally listed as Threatened; E =Federally listed as Endangered; S =Forest Service Sensitive <br />Site 96-27-1 occurs about 1/4 milenorth ofSylvester Gulch and is approximately 7,900 feet above mean <br />sea level (MSL). The site appeared to have been previously disturbed and supports grasses, sagebrush, <br />aster, and daisy. Theazeasurroundingthedisturbedazeaischazacterizedbyathick,mid-agedGambel's <br />oak stand interspersed with chokecherry and serviceberry. Some Gambel's oak, chokecherry, and <br />serviceberry will be removed as a result ofthe drill pad; however, the majority ofthe site occurs within a <br />small clearing. The site is on top of a bench leading up to the West Flatiron. The site is accessed by an <br />existing ATV/4 wheel drive trail that will require minimal grading prior to drilling. <br />Several sensitive species mayoccasionallyusethistypeofhabitat,andmaybepresentatthesite. These <br />species include: dwarf shrew, fox sparrow, and Lewis' woodpecker. Individuals ofthese species may <br />utilize this habitat at times, but this is not preferred habitat for any of the species. There is not suitable <br />-,~ raptornestinghabitatwithinl/4mileofthesite.Noneofthesespecieswereobservedatornearthesite. <br />v Site SOM 21 occurs about 1/4 mile south ofthe existing access road, at approximately 8,010 feet above <br />MSL. The site is locatedonaridgetopandisdominatedbyGambel'soakwithachokecherryunderstory. <br />;d There is also an open grassy azeato the east leading downslope to an aspen stand. Some Gambel's oak <br />will be removed as a result ofthe drill pad; however, part ofthe pad occurs in the grassy azea. The site <br />is accessed by an existing ATV/4 wheel drive trail that will require minimal grading prior to drilling. <br />Several sensitive species may occasionallyuse this type ofhabitat, and maybe present at the site. These <br />species include: dwazf shrew, fox sparrow, and Lewis' woodpecker. Individuals ofthese species may <br />utilize this habitat at times, but this is not preferred habitat for any ofthe species. There is not suitable <br />raptornestinghabitatwhhin 1/4 mile ofthe site. None ofthese species were observed at orneazthe site. <br />Site SOM 50 occurs along the existing access road at an elevation of7,600 feet, less than 1/4 mile south <br />ofthe high pressure hose. The area is chazacterized by and open aspen stand with lazge Gambel's oak <br />trees and an abundant amount ofchokecherry inthe understory. The site is accessible by an existing road <br />that will not require grading prior to drilling. <br />Several sensitive species may occasionally use this type ofhabitat, and maybe present at the site. These <br />species include: pygmy shrew, dwarfshrew, fox sparrow, and Lewis' woodpecker. Individuals ofthese <br />
