Discuss how your reclamation plan can be improved to comply with Rules 6,3 and
6.4 and wzZl achieve the proposed future land use.
In relariott to the proposed site, the e~asting reclamation plan fails to adequately address the above
mentioned concerns. CDOW encourages DMG to require an updated reclamation plan which
more appropriately addresses the replacement of habitat values on the proposed site. As part of
the updated plan, CDOW would encourage the use of native grass speaes and replacement of
woody vegetation with li1;e ]std and quantity.
Although not specifically scared in the current application, CDOW assumes that conditions agreed
to in developing the existing permit ~vc71 apply. Specifically, the applicant has agreed to provide
sequential reclamarion and limit the disturbed azea to no more than 12 acres at any one time.
CDOW supports these practices and would encourage their implementation on the proposed site.
We appreciate the opportunity to review the proposed action Ifyou have any questions or to set
up a meeting, please gtive me a call at (719) 561-4909.
Sincerely,
Chris IQoster
Habitat Biologist
CDOW; Pueblo

cc: Finch, Goforth, Ogilvie, Velarde, Desrlet
Fremont County Planning Dept.
Terry Ireland; USFWS
