This discrepancy arose
factors; first, Pond M3-N is only 1.5 acres instead of
by CMLRD; secondly, the acreage associated with the
excepted by the Division.
i
~ ,r ~
due to the followin
the 4.0 acres assume
haulroad, was not
The 382.0 affected acres associated with the original affected acreage minus
the 19.1 acres associated with the haul road, which was deeded to the
county, equals 362.9 acres. This 362.9 acre value minus thel~2.5 ac e
discrepancy equals 360.4 acres. The 2.4 acres difference between)) 62.9 and
358 is easily due to rounding error.
Reclaimed Acreage: The value of 368 acres was obtained by summing the
acreages of the individual reclaimed parcels. However, when the total area
perimeter was planimetered a value of only 355 acres was obtained. This
discrepancy is likely due to a combination of rounding error, operator bias,
and increased planimeter error due to the number of small parcels involved.
As a result, CYCC is using the smaller value of 355 acres as it is the more
representative.
Disturbed Acreage: The reclaimed acreage (355 acres) plus the 1.9 acres
associated with the Middle Creek Office area and Topsoil stockpile yields a
disturbed acreage value of 356.9 acres.
Bond Released Acreage:
Phase I - Some 338 acres of Mine 3 has been through Phase I bond release.
Therefore this is the correct value as stated in the original Permit Renewal
Appli,Ca .o~.
Phase) II - Upon subsequen investigation, a planimetered value of 98.4
acres a obtained for the P~14se III bond released parcels on Mine 3. The
discrepancy between this value and the previously su ted value of 100.2
acres is easily due to planimeter~error. As such, CYCC is retaining the
originally submitted value of 100.2 a erc s for the Pha a III and release.
MLRD CONCERN:
Page (Revised) 2.04-23
1. Although mining is complete, this section regarding coal seam geology
is still applicable. Please eliminate the wording "The coal seam will
not be mined.
