The inspection was
conducted April 27, 1999, with the report received by Robinson Brick on May 5, 1999.
Item 1: Operator reported 63.2 acres disturbed in the 1998 Annual Report.
Only 50 acres disturbance allowed.
Robinson Brick Company (ROBCO) reported 39.3 total acres affected during the report
year. A total of 24.18 acres are in reclamation for the same report year. The Mine and
Reclamation plan states "The total disturbed area at any one time will not exceed 50
acres. Ofthat 50 acres, no more than 35 acres will need partial backfilling and recoiling
(major); any disturbed acreage on the remaining 15 acres will have been backfilled and
recoiled (moderate & minor) and in the fmal stages of reclamation."
Robinson Brick Company field surveyed the Apache Mine disturbance areas in May and
June of 1999. The annual report was incorrect in the area reported as disturbed. Apache
Mine, as of June 17, 1999, has 26.4 acres of major disturbance and 23.2 acres of
moderate and minor disturbance. This results in 49.6 acres ofcurrently disturbed area.
In addition, 1.0 acre of ponds and 1.8 acres of the South Access Road are currently
disturbed but excluded from the disturbed area totals as these features remain after
reclamation. If the pond and road disturbances are included, 52.4 acres aze currently
disturbed.
1895 West Dartmouth Avenue Denver, Colorado 80110-1308
Sales (303) 783-3000 Toll Free 1800) 977-9002 Fay (303) 781-1618
http://www.robco.com/robinsonbrick
