o Please provide the anticipated flows that will be directed into the ditch and provide
documentation to support that the drainage system can handle the anticipated flows.
o The proposed ditch will cross over the realigned road in two locations. Please explain how
water will be directed over the road, and how the road will ultimately be maintained for
vehicle access due to the proposed ditch crossings.
o Please provide a cross section of the west ditch, and state if the ditch will be reclaimed.
o The operator proposes to direct the west ditch into the lowest pit elevation. The ditch crosses
the mad and makes neazly a 180° tum to the north into the lowest pit elevation at a drop of
neazly 60 feet. If this ditch is to act as a clean water diversion, the Division does not
understand why it would need to be directed into the pit. As an alternative, the operator
should consider constructing a clean water diversion ditch that is directed away from the
mining area and intersects a natural drainage channel.
24. From the permit application text, it appeazs that each highwall will have a ditch that routes water
towards the south and eventually into the lower pit. Please provide addition detail, designs and cross
sections for these highwall ditches.
25. In the application, the operator includes an approximate time table far mining operations. Please
indicate all of the mining phases on the map as described in the permit text.
26. The Lilly Mill site claim was added as a 3.17-acre area. However, the operator states in the permit
text that only 1 acre will be affected. Please include the 1-acre permit area boundary on Exhibit Ca.
27. The operator will need to identify all adjacent landowners within 200 feet of the affected land of the
Lilly Mill Site Claim and provide the adjacent property owners notice in accordance with Rule 1.6.2
(1)(g). Please revise the map and text accordingly and provide proof of notice. Certified mail receipt
copies are acceptable
28. In accordance with Rule 6.4.4(f)(i), please state the thickness of the deposit to be mined. Please also
state the amount of overburden and waste that will be generated.
29. The operatar did not include a small azea of disturbance located on the east side of the permit azea
(and to the west of the Colorado Lime Mining claim). Please explain why this azea disturbed by the
operator was not included in the permit azea, The operator will need to either include it in the permit
azea (and amend the application in accordance with Rules 1.6.6 and 1.8) or provide a detailed
reclamation plan and timetable for the disturbed area.
30. The Colorado Lime Claim and the Colorado Mazble Claim appeaz to overlap in two segments. The
Daisy (* 18148) and Shamrock (4488) and the Chance (* 18148) and Shamrock (4488). Please clarify
as to which entity is the claim holder of these overlapping areas.
31. Exhibit Ca depicts a vertical shaft and adit opening within the area to be mined. Please further
describe these historic mining features and how will they will be impacted from the active mining
operation. Please be aware that re-disturbance of previously disturbed areas by the proposed mining
operation must be included in the permit area and addressed in Exhibit D- Reclamation Plan.
32. Please list and locate on the applicable exhibit all structures that will be constructed on site (i.e.
plants, offices, trailers, tanks, etc...) and provide their associated dimensions and composition in
order to accurately estimate a cost for removal in the reclamation bond estimate.
