White River Nahcolite Minerals
Up-dip monitoring wells 90-2, 90-3, 90-4 and IRI-1 will continue to be sampled at the
same frequency as in the past. For example, water quality sampled montlily for field
parameters, quarterly for lab a~)alysis and annually for complete lab analysis. See
attaclunent munber 1 for plots of select water quality parameters wlvch indicates little
change for the past two years. Water level will be continuously recorded. A total of six
wells including BG-1 alui DS-2 are up-dip and near the current mining operation.
Inside mining panel #l, two wells (93-2M and 3A-1 V) have been completed for
contuiuous motoring of the Dissolution Surface (DS) aquifer. hi addition, DS wells
90-2, Ex-2 acrd DS-2 provide water level data, for total of five wells close to the mining
operation and completed in the aquifer most responsive to mining activity. Continuous
data from the five wells is available in the control room of the facilities, wluch provides
information for adjustment of mining injection and recovery rates.
Down-dip monitoring wells EX-2, 89-1, 89-2, and 89-3 will continue to provide
colrtuiuous water level readings. However, based on water quality results for the past
two to five years no significant water quality changes have been detected. Therefore,
water quality sampling for lab a~ialysis will be reduced to quarterly. See attaclunent
number 2 for plots of select water quality parameters for each down dip well.
At the remote wells IRI-4, IRI-5, IRI-6, IRI-7 and IRI-8, the water level monitoring
schedule will not change. The water quality has not changed significantly in the past two
to five years,.therefore WRN proposes sampling water quality quarterly (every three
months) for field'analysis and semi-annually (six months) for major lab_analysis. Water
quality sampling for IRI-£i would be sampled annually for minor lab analysis. See
attachment number 3 for plots of select water.quality parameters.
