~.'
Orchard Valley Mine - 2 - September 8, 1986
3. If the mine experiences inflows will these inflows be pumped from the
mine? And how will they be treated once they are pumped out?
Rule 2.04.7(2) Surface Water
1. How does CWI propose to mitigate impacts to water right on East Roatcap
Creek if inflows are experienced?
2, Will water be imported to the OVWM site? How will this be done?
3. If water is pumped from the mine and discharged to East Roatcap Creek what
impact will this have to the water quality of this creek during low flow?
What are the down stream water uses and how will they be impacted by the
discharge?
Rule 2.05.2 Operations plan II
v~~ ~,+y
1. The operations plan states that an any corridor and powerline will be
constructed. What measures does CWI propose to take to protect raptores
from potential electricution from the powerline?
2. The proposed portal bench is quite small and will have an open coal
storage pile. How does CWI propose to handle snow removal to prevent coal
material from being pushed off the bench?
Rule 3.0 Bonding
Backfilling costs in the bond calculation were assumed to be the same as
excavation costs. Since the material that will be used to backfill the cuts
will need to be hauled up hill and measures will need to be taken to assure
stability of the fill, a justification should be submitted for using the same
cost estimate for both excavation and backfilling. A cost estimate for the
reclamation of the utility corridor is also needed.
/vj r
3304E
