If, in their opinion, the deficiency does not
' warrant recollection of the sample, the flow of sample management
will continue. All such deficiencies in sample quality control
will be noted on the Field Data Collection Sheet.
2.1.10 Dispatch Samples to the Laboratory: Samples will be delivered by the
field sampling personnel or shipped for overnight delivery to an
' analytical laboratory certified by the U.S. EPA for Safe Drinking
Water Act protocols for analyses according to these protocols.
Shipping coolers will be provided with a security seal,
2.1.11 Laboratorv Review of Sample InteErity and Paperwork: upon accepting
' delivery of the chain of custody, a copy of this chain of custody
will be included as part of the laboratory's analysis deport.
1
The laboratory will next inspect the security seal on the cooler to
' determine if the samples have been tampered with. Aftter opening
the cooler the laboratory will remove and sign the enclosed chain
' of custody indicating the time and date the cooler was opened. A
thorough inspection of the samples will be conducted tm evaluate:
' (1) that the ice pack is still partially froz@n and the
contents of the cooler have remained in a chilled
' condition during transport;
' (2) that the sample containers are intact and frQe from
external contamination;
' -9-
