<br />' SECTION 2: PROTOCOL FOR GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION <br />' AND HANDLING <br />' 2.1 Water Sample Handlin¢ and ManaEement <br />' Ground water sample handling and management will be conducted in <br />accordance with the following procedures. <br />2.1.1 Receive Sample Containers. Laboratorv Water and Coolers frofn Laboratory: <br />These items, when received, will be checked by the field sampling <br />(~°~ personnel to verify that they are in compliance wiJth project <br />~' specifications. Empty sample containers and laboratory water will <br />be received in coolers. Achain-of-custody form will be received <br />with the above-mentioned items. Laboratory de-ioniized water <br />' 1 ,~ provided with the sample bottles, and the sample containers, will <br />!~ ~ be enumerated on the chain of custody. After these items have been <br />' '~'~"• checked and found to be in compliance they will be replaced into <br />t the cooler. <br />1 ~ 2.1.2 Collect Samples and Record Field Data: samples will be cdllected in <br />' accordance with site-specific protocols as defined in SECtion 2.2. <br />Field data will be recorded at the time of sample collection on the <br />Field Data Collection Sheet (Appendix B). Immediately after a <br />1 sample is collected, sample identification will be recorded on the <br />sample container (and on the Field Data Collection Sheet) and this <br />container will then be placed in an iced cooler. If, at any point, <br />there is a deviation from sample collection protocols As outlined <br />' in Section 2.2, these deviations must be noted on thle chain of <br />custody and in the field book. <br />1 2.1.3 Transport of Samples: Samples will be transported in iced coolers <br />to the laboratory.
