C. Mulchinv: • • <br /> Clean, weed free grass hay or straw shall be applied to the site at <br /> the rate of 4000 lbs per acre. At least 50% of the mulch by weight <br /> shall be 10 inches or more in length. The straw will be free of <br /> noxious weeds. Anchoring is required by discing, crimping or stapled <br /> netting. Use of hydro mulch or biodegradable matting (e.g. excelsior) <br /> are acceptable alternatives. <br /> Post Emercrent Weed Control : <br /> Control of competitive weeds shall be done when grass seedlings have <br /> reached the 3 to 4-leaf stage of development. Mowing or chemical <br /> application are effective means to control weeds following grass <br /> seeding. Do not use herbicide on seed mixes that include legumes and <br /> forbs.
