Remove Train Loadout and Stockpile Area From Permit
Dear Mr. Peazson:
The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4,
of the Colorado Revised Statutes, [hat on March 19, 2001, an application [o revise coal mining operations a[ the Bowie Mine
No. (was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All review
and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
Technical Revision No. 35 provides for the removal of [he Bowie No. 1 Train Loadout and stockpile area, including [he
associated reclamation ]lability, from the Bowie No. 1 Permit. Under a separate revision, Technical Revision No. 19, the [rain
loadou[ and stockpile area, including the associated reclamation liability, would be added to the Bowie No. 2 Permit. No other
changes would occur with this revision.
The Underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles north of Paonia, Colorado. The permit area is
further described as follows:
Portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 10-15, 22-25, Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M.
Portions of Sections 5-8, 17-19, 29-32, Township l3 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie.
The applicant is required to publish notice in a Iota] newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of
publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Paonia Public Library,
P.O. Box 969, Paonia, CO 81428, and at the Division office. For additional infortna[ion or to provide written comments,
contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Slree4 Denver, Colorado 80203, [phone]. In
order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this
letter. if no comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns with, or objections
[o, the applicant's proposal.
