General guidelines are listed
below.
' General Guidelines
In general, a minimum of three standards at different concentrations and a
' blank should be used for most initial calibrations and' standard lines.
However, some instruments require asingle-point calibr9tion and certain
methods require that additional standards be used. Reference the specific
method for calibration requirements.
' The initial calibration should be verified by a reference standard and a
calibration blank before analyzing samples.
Continuing calibration is verified according to the apalicable method.
Guidelines are provided in sections 13.2 and 13.3.
' 12.2 Instrument Maintenance and Repair
Routine instrument maintenance shall be performed according to the
manufacturer's specifications only by a person who is familiar with the
instrument.
Instrument repair should be done only by qualified personnel or a
manufacturer representative.
' When required, maintenance and repair contracts shall be used for specific
instrumentation .
All maintenance and repair events should be documented in a nhaintenance log
for each instrument.
' 12.3 Analytical Method Requirements
i
I
I
