1 <br />SECTION 6: PROTOCOL FOR ANALYSIS OF POROUS CUP LYSIMETER SAMPLES <br />AND PROCESS SAMPLES <br />' 6.1 Sample AvailaUility <br />' The nature and operation of the porous cup lysimeters dictates that <br />there are three conditions which apply to samples collected for <br />analysis: <br />(1) There is insufficient sample to perform any analysis: <br />' i.e. less than the minimum sample volume of 100 mis <br />required to perform and quantify appropria$ely QA/QC <br />compatible total cyanide analysis, assuming the <br />autoanalyzer method is used (see Section 6.3); <br />' (2) There is insufficient sample to perform other analyses <br />apart from total cyanide analysis; <br />1 <br />(3) There is sufficient sample to perform the full analysis <br />of the parameters listed on Table 2, including all QA/QC <br />requirements. <br />' In the case of condition 1, insufficient sample for total cyanide <br />' analysis, no analyses will be performed. A report will be issued <br />stating that there was insufficient sample for total cyanide <br />' analysis and quantification, including QA/QC requirements. <br />Where there is sufficient sample for the total cyanide analysis <br />alone, condition 2, this analysis will be done accordimq to the <br />procedures described in Section 6.3 and a report on iChe data, <br />' including the QA/QC report, will be issued. <br />' In the case of condition 3, where there is sufficient simple for <br />analysis of all parameters listed in Table 2, the procedures will <br />' -39- <br />
