' Following a sampling series of no more than 5 samples, a rinse
blank will be collected from the bucket, running laboratory-
provided de-ionized, distilled water throughout the entire bucket.
Analysis of this rinse blank will be used to validate cleaning
' procedures.
Immediately after collection, all samples must be placed in iced
coolers. The sample bottles required for each surface water sample
' are listed in Table 5. Sample preservation, pre-treatment and
holding times, as outlined in Table 5, will be strictly adhered to.
' 3.2.5 Field Parameter Measurements: Standard procedures should be
followed to maintain consistent measurements of field tDarameters.
These standard procedures are as follows:
' (1) Instruments should be calibrated at the beginning of each
sampling day, using a known standard solution. Field
instrumentation calibration procedures are documented in
Table 6.
' (2) The samples to be measured should be collected in a
t sample container that has been cleaned at bast twice
with the same water that is being measured.
' (3) A11 measurements should be made within as brief a period
of time as possible, so that temperature or chemical
' changes will be minimized.
' (4j In some cases, the instruments take a certain amount of
time to stabilize. This stabilization time should be
noted for each measurement.
1
-23
1
