3. East Perimeter Ditch Realignment
A small portion of the east perimeter stormwater diversion ditch around the
tailing storage site is proposed for realignment to provide a small material
borrow area for soil materials needed for bare tailings area cover as described in
#2 above.
The ditch will be sized and configured to match the design for the original ditch
and the area graded, seedbed prepared, seeded and mulched as necessary to
assure vegetative establishment and prevent erosion. The general area for
relocation of the ditch is shown on the attached map.
4. Material Borrow Site
This area is shown on the attached map and consists of an area approximately
1-2 acres in area. The borrow area will be utilized to obtain cover materials for
the exposed tailings areas to promote stability and re-establishment of
vegetative cover. The borrow area will be designed to reduce the slope of the
cut bank along the western margin of the tailings storage facility such that
additional revegetation work can be completed. The current cut-bank is too
steep for successful establishment of vegetation. The reduced slope, after
removal of borrow materials will be scarified, fertilized seeded and hydromulched
as required to establish stability and vegetative cover.
C
