TWENTYMILE COAL COMPANY
FOIDEL CREEK MINE -PERMIT NO. G 82-056
RESOLUTION OF INSPECTION ITEMS AS NOTED IN
12/03/04 INSPECTION REPORT
1) Clearly indicate &sorlaries tyramcu au~vized for c6ssaa#z~ an mzPs cf tl~ Pe~»itAppli~arian Padza~ (PAP, Jzdy
12, 2004Ira1. Spa cfisaasiae urx~i-GENERRL MINE PLAN C»IPLIANCE.
es once: A preliminary disturbance boundary (relatively all encompassing) was delineated on the
electronic map recently provided in conjunction with the ®MG electronic mapping project. Given that a
current disturbance boundary necessarily reflects both historical and more recent disturbance activities,
TCC has reviewed the preliminary mapping and relevant permit references and refined the disturbance
boundary delineation to the best of our current information and abilities to reflect °permitted
disturbance°. Copies of the Mme Plan -Disturbance area and Monitoring Map (Map 23C), incorporating
the revised disturbance boundary, accompany these responses and are being submitted as a Minor
Revision to the Pemrit. Please note that it is TCC's intent w review and further revise this boundary in the
future, based on GPS surveys of actual mine disturbance areas. We also anticipate modifying the
disturbance boundary, to be consistent, on all relevant maps (ie: where shown) as individual maps are
updated or in conjunction with the Pemut Mid-Term Review. In all cases, actual physical disturbance will
be less than or equal to permitted disturbance.
2) 13vcide an apprmrrl deign cyt'~e strbrrent aararal rrnasures for tlae terrpar-ary l~It storage aara (smria zs prsartlystatrl
lxm~. Scecb'saasianwadei-H3'DROLOGICBALANCE (Jsdy 12, 2004Insj~lia~.
Response: Due to the configuration of the present scoria storage area, nom~al site drainage is controlled
internally (ie: closed basin). Field review of this area, however, indicates some potential for discharge from
the area under major storm conditions or if routine road maintenance or material handling activities were
to resuk in localized changes in grades. TCC has completed hydrologic design analyses (SEDCAD) and
developed site-specific drainage and sediment control plans (ASC's/SAE'S) ro address reasonably
anticipated storm and drainage conditions for this area. New or revised components of the PAP reflecting
these drainage designs accompanythese responses as a Technical Revision.
3) Prazide an apprtrrttl design gFtl.~ soa~rrou a-urt-'rreassaa aarerrtlY inplace for Jx CYCC ~ arv~ S~ disaasian
urekrH3'DROLG~ICBALANCE (July 12, 20047rapeaicr~.
Response: Drainage and sediment control designs (SAE) for the CYCC Office area were developed and
approved under the CYOC Pemut (Permit No. G81-071), and approved drainage features were installed
and have been maintained. When former CYCC areas were incorporated under the Foidel Creek Mme
Permit, the specific relevant drainage information was not transferred over ro the Foidel Creek Mme
Pemut, TCC has modified relevant sections of the current PAP to incorporate the relevant drainage
information. New or revised sections of the PAP reflecting this drainage information accompany these
responses as a component of the above referenced Technical Revision.
