SHELTO N, Director <br />December 30, 1985 <br />Mr. Mike Stanton <br />Quaternary Environmental Consulting <br />1210 South Park Dr. <br />Monument, Colorado 80132 <br />Re: Animas Aggregates, Inc.'s Alexander Pit" Ammendment <br />File No.: M-76-032, San Miguel County <br />Dear Mr. Stanton: <br />The application fora Mining and Reclamation Permit amendment for the <br />above-captioned operation was received by the Division and deemed complete on <br />December 19, 1985. Newspaper "Notice" publication, one time a week for four <br />(4) consecutive weeks, may proceed. Prior to the February 26-21, 1986 Board <br />consideration of the application, proof of publication and proof that a copy <br />of the publication was either mailed or personally served to: <br />1. all owners of record of surface rights to the affected land; and, <br />2. all owners of record of surface rights to the immediately adjacent <br />lands <br />must be submitted (see Mineral Rules and Regulations Number 2.2 ). <br />The following clarifications are needed for the application to be considered <br />"adequate": <br />Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />identified and left undistrubed? <br />B. The riverbank and channel should not be affected by this <br />operation. <br />1. °A. How will the original ground beneath the placer tails be <br />2. A. What is the average maximum stream flow through the area of the <br />proposed temporary crossing site? <br />B. Please specify how stream sedimentation will be minimized by <br />the installation/removal of the "filled" temporary crossing. <br />C. Please discuss the possibility of a life-of-operation structure <br />at that site to minimize the disruption of the stream caused <br />by the annual installment and removal of a temporary structure. <br />D.
