VRAIN LAKE GRADING IMPROVEMENT PLANS
7i
Summary of Stormwater Management Plan
The St. Vrain Lakes development is an approximately 1300-acre Planned Unit
Development (PUD) located between the St. Vrain River corridor and State Highway 66,
just east of Interstate 25, in the southwest corner of Weld County. There are currently
100 surface acres of existing lakes north of the St. Vrain River, which will be enhanced
i as an amenity for the community. The overall St. Vrain Lakes development will be
comprised of residential, commercial, schools, lakefront and wetland open space
corridors, waterfront recreation facilities, parks, and recreation centers.
ii
The Lake Grading plans are part of the first phase of the residential development. This
`' Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) and Erosion and Sediment Control Report only
. , covers the construction activities associated with the grading required to enhance the
existing lakes north of the St. Vrain River. A separate SWMP will be required for all
~ other construction activities associated with Phase 1 residential development.
.,
This report includes sediment and erosion control practices and potential pollution
~' sources anticipated during the lake grading construction operations on the St. Vrain
. , Lakes development. It will specify the exact location of Best Management Practices
(BMPs) and how the implementation of BMPs will be sequenced corresponding to the
phasing of the construction of the lakes. This SWMP identifies and describes
. ~ stormwater BMPs that will be implemented to minimize the potential release of
unwanted sediment and chemicals to surface water or ground water. These measures
will consist of providing temporary sediment ponds, diversion dikes, and silt fences for
. ~ the disturbed upstream areas. This report presents Weld County, Urban Drainage and
Flood Control District, and State of Colorado criteria for erosion and sediment control.
Weld County is not responsible for the adequacy of this plan to meet the State of
Colorado or other federal criteria.
1,
iii
