STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN (SWMP)
AND EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL REPORT
FOR
ST. VRAIN LAKE GRADING IMPROVEMENT PLANS
Page 15
area. All employees should be notified of the location of the MSDS and
the cleanup material storage location and should be trained to clean up
spills. All construction site personnel must follow spill prevention and
control practices as follows:
• Designated individuals on the site will receive training on cleanup
procedures for various types of chemicals and the location of
information and cleanup supplies. The MSDS for a chemical
provides information about health hazards, safe handling, use, and
control measures. The MSDS for all chemicals used on the site will
be kept on the site, and workers will be required to review the MSDS
for materials they are working around.
• Spills will be cleaned up promptly after discovery, and materials
used for spill cleanup must be disposed of offsite at an approved
facility.
• Personnel will wear appropriate protective equipment to prevent
injury resulting from contact with a toxic substance.
• The designated coordinator and the SWMP Administrator will be
notified immediately of any spill of a toxic or hazardous material that
threatens human health or the environment. The SWMP
Administrator (or designee) must in turn report the spill to the
appropriate federal, state, or local agencies in accordance with
applicable regulations.
If a spill occurs, this plan will be reviewed and appropriately revised
to incorporate measures to reduce the likelihood of a spill
reoccurring and to improve response time and cleanup
' effectiveness.
For any construction activities covered by Phis plan that involve the
use of toxic or hazardous substances, on-site spill prevention and
cleanup coordination, in the event of a spill, will be the responsibility
' of the site superintendent.
~,
• Sweeping will be required of adjacent roadways weekly minimum
~ ~ and daily during hauling (at the end of the day).
1,
