• iiiiiiiiiiiniuiii
~0~
Twentymile Coal Company
May 31, 2000
Janet Binns
Environmental Protection Specialist RECEIVED
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 'JUN 02 2000
Denver, Colorado 80203
RE: Permit Revision No. 99-05, Adequacy Response
Permit No. C-82-056
Dear Ms. Binns:
Division of Minerals & Geobgy
The following presents adequacy responses to the comments/questions raised
in the Division's adequacy letters of May 23rd and 25`h, 2000. The comments were
consolidated into the Division's letter of May 25`h. The responses follow the same
numbering as presented in the Division's letter, except that the text of the comment is not
typed in, only the appropriate number.
3. Two copies of page 2.05-2 and 2.1 are enclosed.
18. a) Based upon the discussion with the Division on May 26'", it was agreed that
TCC would revise exhibit 4e-3 to reflect using an 800 foot overburden depth for
the east end of panel 12 Right. The 800 feet overburden depth was used due to the
fact that for the panel the overburden on the east end ranges from 700 to 850 feet.
Figure 2A, has been added to this exhibit to show the subsidence prediction for
the 12 Right panel with 800 feet of overburden. Two copies of the revised figure
are attached for insertion into the exhibit. Also, the text on pages one and two of
this exhibit have been modified to include reference to the use of 800 feet of
overburden for the subsidence prediction shown on figure 2A.
b) The Division is referred to Figure 2A for the 800 feet overburden depth
subsidence prediction. Also, Table 8 of Exhibit 4e-3 has been modified to reflect
a predicted subsidence range of 0 to 50 inches. See stations 395 and 396.
c) It is TCC's understanding that the above modifications to Exhibit 4e-3 satisfy
the request to have a plan view subsidence map developed for the east end of
Panel 12 Right.
29515 ROUTT COUNTY ROAD #27, OAK CREEK, CO 80467 Phone: (970) 879-3600 Fax: (970) 8798050
