Development Schedule for phasing of the mining and reclamation time periods.
Water from Phase I mining azea will be pumped to the pond in Lot 6 with an overflow
to the large pond in Lot 10. If required, an overflow will be constructed from the lazge
pond in Lot 10 to the pond on the east side of 23 Road. Overflows will be piped.
11. The cottonwood trees will not be completely isolated by mining operation, the
existing lake side of the tree will be left undisturbed. If the tree show signs of stress,
water will pumped to them.
12. The maximum increase in disturbed will be 20 to 25 acres. This will include 10 acres
for the processing and stockpile site and the azea being mined and backfilled.
Maximum highwall height will be 24 feet.
13. Final slopes will be 3 to 1 except for some 5 to 1 slopes on the south side of the lake
to pacify the DOW. Compaction will be accomplished using wheel loaders,
Compaction will be azound 90% of standard proctor.
14. No seeding of the backfilled portion of Phase I was planned. However, do to the time
period until fmal reclamation is completed, some temporary seed will be required to
control dust. Total azea to be backfilled in Phase I is 24 acres.
15. See Development Schedule for reclamation timetable.
16. The topsoil stockpile is shown of the Mining Plan map.
17. The reclamation seed mix, with the Sand Drop Seed and Saltbrush deleted, will be
used to seed topsoil piles.
18 & 19. The scales will be removed after all stockpiled material has been removed from
the site.
20. The post mining land use for the backfilled azea of AM-03 will be a business that is
allowed in the Cities General Industrial zone(I-2). GJ Pipe may relocate it's precast
operation or move a ready mix concrete plant to the site after backfilling is
completed. Before this can happen, a site plan approval will be required by the City.
The time required to mine and backfill Lots 3 and 4 will be 6 or 7 years. Until a
definite plan is developed and approve by the City, Lots 3 and 4 will be returned to a
temporary agricultural use and seeded to control wind erosion. This azea contains 15
acres and will be seeded into oats and alfalfa. Portions of Lot 5 and
6 will be used as a processing and stockpile azea for Phase III mining azea.
21. Permanent vegetation areas will include new slopes around the pond and any
disturbed azeas not intended for industrial. These azeas are estimated at 6 acres.
22. The dewatering of the large pond in Lots 9, 10, and 22 will be to the existing pond on
the east side of 23 Road and then to the drain ditch per the requirements of the
existing discharge permit.
23. Well Permit No. 057389-F has been issues by the Office of the State Engineer, copy
attached, for the use of 231.77 acre-feet/yeaz of ground water for the mining
operation.
24. Mining azound the cottonwood trees will be done using a buffer of 10 feet beyond the
drip line and then sloped at 3 to 1 to protect the roots. Trees will be watered if
required during the mining operation.
The City is requiring 30 plus tree along the north property line, this will mitigate any
cottonwood tress removed during the mining operation.
An azea of 5 to 1 slopes has been added to the lower pond.
Dikes that restrict the flow of the river aze not allowed by the Corp or Mesa
