~ 234
1 operations. if we have a dusting potential, if we
' 2 have, through the operating scenario I described
3 this morning, the development of dust, it simply
' 4 means we have achieved our objective in terms of
5 producing desiccated tailings.
' 6 It means we can then operate and qo back
~ into the area that is beginning to dust. It is the
' 8 easiest and the quickest sign that Battle Mountain
' 9 Gold is operating the facility correctly. If there
10 is the start of any dusting from the surface, you
' 11 simply go back to the area where you need to be and
12 deposit new tailings.
13 My last comment was in relationship to
14 the seismic design criteria. I think I will simply
' 15 reference the extensive comments and extensive
16 submission that went into the (inaudible) prior to

17 this hearing, the discussions we had with the
' 18 experts from the Board side of it.
19 In terms of our operation, evaluating
' 20 what seismic potential was in that area, we were
21 aware that there was a seismic potential, which is
' 22 why we did the extent of work that we did.
' 23 We then, as I said this morning, came to
24 the decision on a present design criteria, which, in
' 25 our opinions, will give us a very reliable, high
' AGREN, BLANDO & BILLINGS
