Bob Oswald Environmental Protection Specialist Division on Minerals & Geology Department of Natural Resources 701 Camino del Rio Durango, CO 81301 Re: St. Jude Mine, Permit M-1978-039 Response to April 2, 2003 Comments Dear Mr. Oswald: International Uranium (USA) Corporation (the "Operator") provides the following information in response to your letter of April 2, 2003 regarding the revised site map and Site Report for the St. Jude Mine, Permit M-1978-039 (the "Permit"). Boundary Change The Operator proposes to modify the permit boundary for the St. Jude Mine Permit M-1978-039 to resolve inadequacies in the existing Permit boundary. A separate letter is submitted herewith to address the proposed boundary change through a proposal for a Technical Revision to the Permit. Updated Site Map: Enclosed for your files are two signed originals of the 1" = 100' updated site map. The updated site map shows the revised Permit boundary as proposed in the Technical Revision request. The site map includes additional information in response to the April 2, 2003 review comments from the Division of Minerals & Geology. Furthermore, additional surveying work has been performed at the St Jude Mine, which resulted in minor additional changes in the site map, most notably a considerable expansion of the topsoil stockpile (described below). Permit Acreage: The Permit acreage of "10.0 acres" listed on the last version of the site map was rounded from our detail AutoCAD drawings. The site boundary has been pulled in a very slight amount on the northeast side, and the area has been recalculated and is below the 10-acre limit for the 110 permit. As noted in the accompanying letter proposing a Technical Revision to adjust the Permit boundary, the Operator is not proposing an expansion of the permitted area. Since the boundary change proposed by the Operator is so small, no additional map has been provided to show the location of the Operator's unpatented mining claims.
